The third round of encourage shield took place on Sunday at The Coast golf club. With wild weather in the forecast we were all hopeful it would hold off long enough for us to get our match in.

It was very tough going, with most kids on the 4th hole having to hit driver just to carry it over the cliff side! With the weather setting in after the first hour and the kids becoming increasingly wetter and colder and some greens starting to flood, a decision was made by the managers to call the match a half, as the 2 clubs behind us decided to do the same thing.

I’m extremely proud of how the kids carried themselves , getting on with their matches, trying their best and not complaining. But it was evident after 9 holes that ensuring the kids safety and well-being was more important than winning or losing.

We’ll be at Woolooware this Sunday, hopefully the weather is a little better!
